Lake Stamford sits 10 Miles northeast from Stamford Texas, in Haskell County. The lake is stocked with Blue and Channel Catfish, sunfish, crappie, large mouth bass, and white bass. The primary structure in the lake is Rock with areas of bulrush and cattail. Texas Parks and Wildlife have placed fish habitat structures, and offer gps coordinates here. Large mouth and catfish fishing are decent, but crappie are abundant. There are two marinas on the lake, on opposite sides. Stamford Marina on the south side, and Anchor Marina on the North. If your planning on camping, I'd highly recommend staying at the Anchor Marina campground. Its well kept, and there is a free crappie house on the water. The Stamford marina campgrounds are very run down, however there is a fishing dock for day use. Both Marinas have boat ramps.
