Lake Colorado City State Park

Tucked inside a forest of mesquite trees, just outside of Colorado City, is Lake Colorado City State park. This 500 acre park, opened in 1972, sits on Morgan Creek, a tributary of the Colorado river. Once a water source for Colorado City, it is not solely a recreational lake. anglers enjoy fishing for Large mouth bass and catfish here, utilizing the fishing pier, and boat ramps. As with all Texas state parks, no fishing license is required to fish the waters inside the park. Three camp sites throughout the park offer both primitive, and full hook up, as well as 11 cabins available for rent. Bring your hiking boots to enjoy the many trials, and keep an eye out for geocaches scattered around the park.
