Goose Island State Park

Established between the years of 1931-1935, Goose Island State park sits on 321.4 acres, in the gulf of Mexico. The park offers fishing, hiking and camping with 44 sites on the bay, and another 57 tucked away in the oak trees. All sites have power and water, and each camping loop has its own bathrooms with showers. If dispersed camping if your style, there are also 25 walk in tent sites in the park.

although the park is located on the shore, there isn't a designated swimming area, and the shoreline consist of concrete and oyster shells, rather than sand.

However, there is plenty of fishing to be had at the park. You fish right from camp from any of the bay sites, or from the 1620ft long fishing pier. IF you'd rather get out on the water, there is a boat launch, and also canoe/kayak launch. As with all Texas State parks, a fishing license is not required to fish in the park.

another attraction in the park is Big Tree. At an estimated age of over 1000yrs old, this thing is huge. with a circumference of 35 ft, 44ft tall, and with a crown spread of over 90ft, its no secret where it got its nick name.
