Colorado Bend State Park

Colorado bend was the most primitive park we have visited so far. You wont find warm showers, or flushable toilets here, but you will find some beautiful scenery. This 5,328 acre park sits west of Lampasas on what was formally the gorman and lemons ranches. You'll find 35 miles of trails to hike or bike, and about 40 primitive camp sites. no hook ups, but a couple of the sites have water. There are composting toilets, but the smell was enough to drive me away before I even stepped out of the truck. There is a really nice water fall named Gorman Falls that we failed to get pictures of. We had a negative experience with the staff at the head quarters, which left us a little anxious to just move on to the next park. I'll talk a bit about it in a blog post. We may visit again the future to get more pics, and if we do, i'll update this page.
